While reorganising the images stored in my backup disks I stumbled upon these pictures from a long and leisurely road trip across the Kumaon Himalayas.
This was my first trip to the Himalayas with my new digital camera, the Canon EOS 10D. It was November 2003, we were on a long leisurely trip across the Kumaon Himalayas and the weather was perfect for photography. We drove from Jaipur to Ranikhet, and then from there onwards to Chaukori and Munsiyari. We did get some good images of the Himalayan and the Kumaoni landscapes. Just felt like sharing them 🙂 .

18 Feb 2015Hi Somendra,
Just superb images your name sounded familiar and after asking my daughter Nandita realised that it was you who guided us to Mr Dushyant Singhji of Dhami. Thanks it was a great trip and Dhami was also very interesting Nice courtious family.Nandita should have informed you but she remains busy in her work
Your images reminded me of my treks and trips to Har ki Doon Pindari Glacier Kumauon–Chaukori,Munsiari,Narayan Ashram etc.It was so very nostalgic. But ofcourse they were long back.
Please keep up the good work
With best wishes

I am glad you had a good time at Dhami. I happened to meet Dushyant Singhji a few months after your visit. He was remembering you and Nandita very fondly.
Good to know that you visited this blog. Keep in touch.
